Wood Engineering Division has developed the following technologies for more valuable, beautiful, and safe use of wood; database of wood properties, improvement of wood material properties, development of engineering wood, design value for timber construction, securing structural safety of the wood structure, and improvement of the environmental performance of a wood building.
In order to promote using domestic wood, researches on wood properties and modification are ongoing through improving durability and developing eco-friendly preservative treatment and the maintenance manual. In addition, we are conducting research on anatomical information of wood for identification, and developing drying and sawing technology.
