On October 30, 2008 Workshop on FGIS(Forest Geographic Information System) held the opening ceremony in Seorak Sun Valley Resort in Gangwon Province. This Workshop was co-hosted by the Korea Forest Service and the Gangwon Province. The Deputy Minister of Korea Forest Service, the Vice Governor of Gangwon Province along with some 450 forest officers from different cities and provinces participated at this event.
