Final Decision on Baekdu Mountain Range Protection Area

Baekdu Mountain Range Protection Committee, presided over by the prime minister on August 30, finally determined Baekdu Mountain Range protection area spanning an area of 263,000 ha for the purpose of reviving the national spirit as well as restoring the ecosystem on the Korean peninsula. Ahead of the conference, Mr. Cho Yon-hwan, Chief of the Korea Forest Service, is explaining the progress and implications of the decision on the protection area.
