The Special ASEAN-ROK Ministerial Meeting on Forestry took place at the Shilla Hotel, Seoul, on August 29-30, drawing about 100 forestry ministers, high-level officials and scholars from the 10 ASEAN Member States and the Repbulic of Korea.

The ministers commeorated the entry of force of the ASEAN-ROK Agreement on Forest Cooperation and pledged their support for the prospective launch of the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO), which will be the first-ever inter-governmental organization in the region dedicated to sustainable forest management.
