On Dec. 6, ’Save Pine Tree Society’ held the inauguration ceremony at the House of Literature in Yejang-dong, Seoul. In presence were Kim Huran, the chief director of the House of Literature, Choi Yeol, Director of Environment Foundation, Moon Gookhyun, Director of Forest for Life, Cho Yon-hwan, Chie of KFS, Yoo Inchon, President of Seoul Cultural Foundation, Lee Hyungmo, President of Citizen Times, Park Juhyun, Director of Social Economic Institute, and some 100 guests.

The Society pointed out the significance of the pine trees to the Korean culture. Even the line, "... that pine tree standing on Mt. Nam..." from the National Anthem shows that the pine tree symbolizes our soul and spirits for thousands of years.

The society called on the public to participate in saving the pine trees.
