The tree funeral(tree burial) has been becoming more popular around the world for its environment friendliness. Based on the recurrent characteristics of nature, the tree funeral was first introduced in Switzerland in 1999 and fast spread to Germany, UK, and other nearby European countries. Very recently, tree funeral has newly emerged as an alternative funerary practice in Korea.
