Are There No Ways to Fight Pine Wilt Disease?

First detected in 1998 in Busan, the pine wilt disease spread to 49 administrative districts by September of 2005, damaging over 5,000 ha of forests. The pine long-horned beetle being the carrier, the pine tree withers to death once infested. The main cause for its spread is known to be pine logs tranfers. The government started to restrict pine log transports and has been devising various measures.
