Suffering Forests into Healthy Forests
Chief Cho Yon-hwan of Korea Forest Service was featured in on YTN program "Science Plus- People." He talked about forest policy and tasks of KFS. The Chief said that KFS is working to increase forest income through forest resource developoment and to enhance environmetally sound forest recreation for the public. Diverse forest management activities including fire prevention, pest and disease control are implemented to achieve such goals. He noted on the current policies such as "Nurturing Forests into Real Ones," flood control plans for the rainy season, pine wilt disease prevention, Baekdu Daegan Mountain System(BDMS) protection, administrative innovation, etc.
