Zelkova Forest of Our Town
Korea Forest Service held a special lecture with Mr. Jung Moon-chan, head of U-uigok-ri Danyang-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, who also is the chair of Committee on General Mountain Village Development Project. Mr. Jung shared his experiences in conducting Mountain Village Development Projects and other various government-led assistance programs for the passed 5 years. He identified the obstacles and his sentiments from bidding to final implementation. He mentioned that evertime he was faced with hardships, the zelkova forest of his town helped him look back on his goals and renew his will to move on. He also urge the government to provide assistance where the residents really needs. He strongly asked for continued concern and post management after the project period.
