60th Arbor Day Tree Planting
In commemmoration of the 60th Arbor Day, 4,200 trees such as lily tree, chestnut, and acorn were planted at the Experiment Forest of Korea Forest Research Institute. In presence were Mr. President and first lady, foresters, Green Forest Leaders(Pureun-sup Seondowon), and local residents.
President Roh Mu-hyun mentioned in his welcome statement that although we succeeded in re-greening of our forests, our forests lack economical value and that we should set new goals and take care of our forests to enhance the economical aspects of our forests.
