Garden I

(Conifers & Medicinal Plants Garden)

Deciduous Cypress(Taxodium distichum sp. (L.) Rich.)
Garden I is located to the left of the main entrance. Garden I is mainly composed of moistful lowland and mainly holds eciduous Cypress, considered suitable for wetland. A variety of broadleaf trees were also planted in 1968, after improving its soil conditions by reducing excess moisture in soil through mound layering. Below the forest, there is medicinal plants garden established in 2006 with 192 species of 59 families.
Garden III

(Deciduous Garden)

Garden III holds a collection of Deciduous trees that have been planted since 1920s. It especially features the type tree of Wild Pear Tree, which has been academically valuable since it was firstly found in 1935 by prof. Nakai. Also, there are two special mother trees of Eucommia, reportedly known as firstly introduced from China in 1982. All Eucommia trees throughout Korea are descendents of these two trees planted in Garden III.

Garden II

(Conifers Garden)

Garden II is located to the right of the main entrance. A variety of trees, 70 species from 28 families, are planted in this garden, including Sawara Cypress, White Pine, Japanese Cedar , and so on. Sawara ypress is the tree highly favored as street trees in 1920s while Japanese Cedar is the tree introduced from Japan after 1960s. Visitors can enjoy a great scenery of gigantic Deciduous Cypress, standing alongside fences with Dawn Redwood.
Garden IV

(Deciduous Garden)

Garden IV holds a collection of 67 species from 26 families of Deciduous trees, including not only six standard Deciduous species, Cork Oak, Mongolian Oak, Korean Oak, Oriental White Oak, Konara Oak, Sawtooh Oak, but also Korean Ash, Gwangneung Ash, East Asian Hackberry, and Korean Berchemia, which is one of the rare species worldwide. Visitors can enjoy a close view of all of these trees and scenic beauty.

Garden V

(Conifers Garden)

Garden V is located next to the main building and Marronnier Shelter. Visitors can observe 14 species from 14 families of Conifer varieties in this cozy garden, including gigantic Korean Red Pine, Hinoki Cypress and its varieties, Canadian Spruce, Korean Spruce, Korean Fir, Needle Fir, White Pine, Chinese Juniper species, and so on.
Garden VI

(Herbs Garden)

Garden VI presents various kinds of herbs that have been collected from the altitude of over 600m nationwide since 1960s, edible wild plants including East Asian Edelweiss, Fischer’s Ligularia, European Goldenrod, Siebold Primrose, Adonis, some flowers of which are also favored and enjoyed, as well as bracken varieties, Sawtooth Oak and its varieties, Red-leaved hornbeam and its varieties, and so on.

Garden VII

(Shrubs Garden)

Garden VII presents a collection of 248 species from 55 families. While the major species in this garden including Amur Linden, Chinese Wingnut, Sawleaf Zelkova, and so on have continuously been growing taller and larger since they were firstly planted in Japanese colonial era, other shrub species including Shortstalk Bushclover, Korean Deutzia, Rubripes Maple, and so on, have been collected and planted since 1967.

Garden VIII

(Deciduous Garden)

Garden VIII, some trails of which are stretching over the valley, has been created since 1966 and consists of representative Deciduous trees in Korea. Visitors can enjoy gigantic Bird Cherry trees growing along the valley. There are also Korean endemic plants like Maple with narrow leaves and rare plants that are gradually disappearing from their native habitats and are designated as endangered species like Korean Wild Golden-bell, Korean Forsythia, and so on.
