Forest Products Department

In order to respond to climate change and maximize added values of wood resources, Forest Products Department focuses on wood properties and structure, NT-based new wood materials, wood processing technology for resource recycling, BT-based wooden bio-energy, and forest microorganism. By doing so, we aim to seek a new growth engine and develop technology for industrial use of wood.

Wood Processing Division

Wood processing Division aims to develop physical·chemical processing technology to utilize wood efficiently, aesthetically and safely, secure people’s safety and health, and enhance technological competitiveness of domestic wood industry. Our research focuses on environment-friendly and high-durability wood processing, wood-based materials utilizing nanotechnology and recycling of waste woods. Ongoing research covers new advanced composite materials utilizing nanocellulos, high-performance wood plastic composites(WPC), eco-friendly adhesive, environment-friendly wood preservation, flame retardation of wood and wood-based products, and carbonized board using waste wood-based products. We make efforts to advance wood processing technology, strengthen connection among industry, policies and research, and conduct customer-oriented research for enhancing competitiveness of wood industry while increasing the recycling of wood resources, and minimizing the impacts on the environment.
